Prospects There is growing prevalence worldwide of chronic disease caused by various metabolism disorder, such as obesity, dyslipidemia, and diabetes, for which various drugs and surgical methods are actively studied in contemporary field of medicine. These endocrine related diseases could be better approached and treated through the perspective of Korean Medicine where the cause is viewed as a disorder in the Qi system of the entire body and the Viscera and Bowels rather than individual symptoms being treated separately.

In addition, we are continuously reporting the treatment effects of herbal medicinals to each disease within the field of male urogenital system disorder such as prostatism, chronic pelvic pain syndrome, and sexual dysfunction. Improvement of urination related symptoms after Korean Medical treatment has been verified as well. Moreover, professional clinicians specializing in Kidney disease are treating patients while actively doing research to find ways to safely and effectively treat patients with Korean Medicine. As such, our department is committed to not only study the basic and clinical aspects of various disease related to the 'Kidney system', but also applying research findings to actual practice in the clinic.
